I was born into a predominantly Catholic family. I was, of course, baptized Catholic, had my First Communion and Confirmation. But I was NOT a regular churchgoer. It didn’t move me.

At the age of 16, I was saved the first time I stepped foot into a non-denominational church. It was Sheffield Family Center. I had never experienced a church like that before, and when they invited anyone down to the altar to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior and be saved, I walked down there, gave my life to Jesus, and cried like a baby!

But—I did NOT continue to attend that church either.

I credit much of my journey from that point on to my BFF from sixth grade. Long talks about Jesus and the Bible and the Commandments, and what it’s like to be in a relationship with Him. Most of my life was spent believing in Jesus Christ, but I never knew Him intimately. I was a “lip service” Christian. Not even lukewarm.

I would liken my relationship with Him throughout my life to an accordion—coming together and pulling apart. ON again, OFF again. But never really connecting on that deeper level. I had NO IDEA that was a thing even. Let alone a possibility!?

At 23, I went through my first major depression after a serious car accident where I was hit head-on by a drunk driver.

At 42, I made a bad decision that humbled me. At 45, I made another massive bad decision that would impact the rest of my life—and have 10 years of negative mental consequences.

At 52, my kids were growing and going; empty nest was a major struggle for me. And one child was making very bad choices. This would ultimately lead to the VERY FIRST time I ever humbled myself, hit my knees, and cried out to God to take away my heartbreak and fear.

Right then and there… God GRABBED AHOLD OF ME and said, “I have called you by name. You are mine. And this on-again, off-again thing that you have maintained between us… it ends today. It’s on from here on out, forevermore!”

Since then, my journey has been full-blown ON with the Holy Spirit!!!
On FIRE FOR JESUS!!!
